IT asset disposition & electronics recovery

IT Asset Disposition, Electronics Recycling & IT Equipment Buyback

Centerpoint Industries helps businesses retire, recycle and remarket computers, servers, storage and networking equipment nationwide. Our ITAD service combines free pickup, documented data destruction, serialized reporting and value recovery through qualifying equipment buyback or recovery credit.

Value first

Your retired IT is an asset, not a disposal cost.

Most retired business technology still has resale value. We review what you have, identify what can be remarketed and build the project around the best recovery available.

Recover more

Reusable equipment is evaluated for remarketing before recycling is ever considered.

Move sooner

Equipment loses value every month it sits. Faster decisions protect resale value on laptops, servers and networking gear.

Offset the project

Value from stronger assets offsets the handling of older equipment, so most projects cost you nothing.

What is included

ITAD services from an R2-certified company.

Centerpoint is R2 certified. We evaluate equipment for reuse and recovery while maintaining the data destruction and reporting process described below.

Free pickup and removal

We schedule the pickup, arrange the freight and remove the equipment from your site at no charge.

Full data destruction

Every data-bearing device is sanitized or physically destroyed. No exceptions and no extra fee.

Serialized reporting

Each asset is recorded by serial number, make and model from receipt to final disposition.

Documents on every device

You receive documentation covering every sanitized or destroyed device, ready for your audit file.

Data destruction

Every data-bearing device. Destroyed, serialized and documented.

Data security is the first requirement of any IT disposition project. Nothing is resold or recycled until the data on it has been destroyed and recorded.

Data sanitization

Drives in reusable equipment are fully erased so the device can be remarketed safely. Each erased drive is logged by serial number.

Physical destruction

Failed, damaged or end-of-life drives are physically destroyed. Destruction is recorded against the drive serial number.

Chain of custody

Equipment is counted at pickup, tracked in transit and reconciled on receipt, so every asset is accounted for.

Covers hard drives, solid-state drives, laptops, desktops, servers, storage arrays, phones, tablets and any other device that stores data.

Documentation you receive

Proof for every device, not a summary.

Serialized asset report

A line for every asset: serial number, make, model, condition and final disposition.

Certificate of data destruction

Covers every sanitized or destroyed device, listed by serial number with the method used.

Certificate of recycling

Confirms responsible downstream recycling for equipment that could not be reused.

Settlement report

Shows the value recovered on each asset and the payment or credit due to you.

Free pickup and removal

We come to you. Nationwide.

Scheduled around you

Pickup dates are set around your refresh, move or closure timeline.

Freight covered

We arrange and pay for transportation from your office, warehouse or data center.

Packing guidance

We tell your team exactly how to stage and palletize equipment for a quick, safe pickup.

One site or many

Single offices, multi-site rollouts and recurring pickups are all handled by one contact.

Data center decommissioning and enterprise equipment recovery

A server-room or data-center retirement brings together hardware value, data security and a removal schedule. Provide an equipment list with server, storage and networking models, quantities and condition. Identify the data-bearing drives, the location of the equipment and the access or loading requirements. Your IT team should explain what remains in service and what has been approved for retirement before a pickup is planned.

Centerpoint evaluates reusable servers, storage arrays, switches and routers for recovery, while data-bearing equipment follows the documented destruction process. Recent hardware may qualify for purchase or recovery credit; older equipment can follow a recycling path. See our data center decommissioning and server recovery page for the information to prepare.

Corporate computer recycling and IT refreshes

A bulk laptop, desktop or workplace-device refresh should produce one clear inventory and one disposition plan. Include makes and models, counts, condition, available chargers and peripherals, and whether devices are locked or still assigned to an account. Avoid sharing passwords or sensitive company data in the asset list. Device value depends on the actual equipment and audited condition, rather than its original purchase price.

If your goal is to sell used IT equipment, tell us about the hardware and timeline. If it has reached the end of its usable life, the review can focus on electronics recycling and reporting. Our ITAD versus electronics recycling guide explains the difference. For a Raleigh project, see business electronics recycling and ITAD in Raleigh.

Recovery options

Reuse first. Recycle only what cannot be reused.

Outright purchase

We buy qualifying equipment for a fixed price based on model, age, condition and quantity.

Recovery credit or revenue share

Equipment is remarketed and the proceeds are shared with you under agreed terms.

Responsible recycling

Equipment with no resale value is recycled through appropriate downstream partners and documented.

Project plan

Six steps from asset list to settlement.

1 / Share your asset list

Send makes, models, quantities and condition. A spreadsheet or photos is enough to start.

Day 1

2 / Review and offer

We evaluate resale potential and send a written proposal with the recovery option that fits.

Within 2-3 business days

3 / Schedule free pickup

We confirm site access, give packing guidance and book the freight.

Typically 1-2 weeks

4 / Receipt and audit

Equipment is counted and recorded by serial number and checked against your list.

On arrival

5 / Data destruction

Every data-bearing device is sanitized or destroyed and logged before any resale or recycling.

During processing

6 / Reporting and settlement

You receive the serialized report, certificates and payment or credit under the agreed terms.

Typically within 30 days of receipt

Timelines vary with volume, location and site access. Final value is based on the equipment received and its audited condition.

Example projects

How different projects come together.

Illustrative scenarios showing how common projects are typically structured. Actual terms depend on the equipment and requirements.

Illustrative scenario

Corporate laptop refresh

A company replaces several hundred laptops. All drives are sanitized and documented, recent models earn a purchase offer, and older units are recycled at no cost.

Illustrative scenario

Office closure

A business vacates a floor with desktops, monitors, phones and networking gear. One free pickup clears the space and reusable equipment earns a recovery credit.

Illustrative scenario

Server room decommission

A technology team retires servers, storage and switches. Drives are destroyed and certified, and the hardware is valued for resale by model.

Common questions

Questions we hear most.

Is pickup really free?

Yes. We schedule the pickup and cover freight and removal for retired IT equipment.

How do I know our data was destroyed?

You receive a certificate of data destruction listing every device by serial number and the method used.

Will we get paid for our equipment?

Reusable equipment can earn a purchase offer or recovery credit. Value depends on model, age and condition.

What about equipment with no resale value?

It is recycled responsibly through downstream partners and documented on your report.

Do we need to remove the drives first?

No. Leave drives in place. Each one is sanitized or destroyed and recorded as part of the service.

Can you handle multiple locations?

Yes. Multi-site and recurring pickups are coordinated through a single contact and a single report.
